Diane Unger: 1 John 3 & John 13:12-20

I kept coming back to verses 6 and 9-10. They say that no one who lives in Him, no one who is born of God will continue to sin… Anyone who doesn’t do what is right is not a child of God.

At first, this seems confusing because I’m pretty sure I’m a child of God and I’m pretty sure I still sin. But going back to verse 2, “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.”

I have a confident hope (verse 3) that I AM a child of God, and as I try to live a life of righteousness instead of sin, I will SOMEDAY be sinless like Him, when He appears.

Lastly, verses 11-24 tells us to love God and love people… wouldn’t our world be a much better place if we could just remember to do this a little more?!
