If you have students in 7th-12th grades, you may have questions about their role in the church on Sunday mornings and beyond.
We believe that parents are the primary spiritual influencers of their kids. We want to support and empower you and are praying for you weekly by name. Please reach out with any prayer requests or resource needs.
We also believe that it is imperative that, as our students get older, they are integrated into the body and life of the church as a whole. Research has shown that there are negative effects on young adults’ faith when they are always kept separate from the weekly church worship experience during their middle and high school years. Integrating our students into our weekly rhythm of worshipping together is a purposeful part of our youth ministry discipleship strategy. Our Sunday services are designed with adults and teens in mind, and our Wednesday night program is designed to focus entirely on the unique needs and interests of our teens.
Here are several ways and opportunities outside of Sunday and Wednesday learning that your kids can serve:
- Every Sunday! – The Grove (kid ministry) needs youth to love and lead our children. This is a beautiful way for our teens to experience God working in and through them.
- April 29 – Serve day. We are encouraging families to serve together on our Pulpit Rock serve day (we actually canceled our prism serve day May 6 in efforts to serve as a family the week before).
- June 9-11 – PRiSM is going to Denver to partner with ministries in the city in serving and loving on communities in Denver. Registration starts April 1.
- Every Thursday this summer, we will have “Thursday Serve Day”. In May, you will receive a list of places the students can join us in serving Colorado Springs every Thursday from 9-noon.
These opportunities are ways we hope your student can participate in loving Jesus’ way and grow in their faith.
