Mercy 2021 | Bonus Content

December 14, 2021 by Pulpit Rock Staff

This year, we get to partner with Tirzah International, Lutheran Family Services Refugee Program, 1,000 Lighthouses & Tyre Church, and The Exodus Road in the 2021 Christmas Offering: Mercy.

Have you heard about the specific projects we’re supporting? Here’s a quick recap…

Tirzah International

Tirzah partners with local female leaders to create opportunities for women to discover their God-given potential and combat injustice through microenterprise, leadership development, and local sustainability.

One of these leaders is Dr. Lavanya, a doctor who has been meeting the holistic medical needs of women affected by leprosy and HIV/AIDS in Hyderabad, India. Your gifts to the Christmas Offering will help Tirzah and Dr. Lavanya launch a fully equipped women’s empowerment center to serve the most marginalized women in Hyderabad.

Here’s a story of what’s possible when we create opportunities like this for women to discover their God-given potential…

We also got to hear from Dr. Lavanya and her heart behind this project! Check it out.

Lutheran Family Services Refugee Program

As we partner locally with Lutheran Family Services Refugee Program, we not only have the opportunity to provide vital financial assistance for refugees beginning a new life here, but we have the opportunity to curate mentor relationships between Cultural Mentor teams of families and individuals that will walk in relationship with refugees for 4-6 months.

What is the Cultural Mentor Program and how can you come alongside refugees in this resettlement process?

1,000 Lighthouses & Tyre Church

As an increased demand for food continues to grow in Lebanon, 1,000 Lighthouses and Tyre Church have recently acquired space they will convert into a food warehouse.

We get to continue walking alongside our partners in Lebanon by helping to fund the buildout of this warehouse to allow for refrigeration and proper storage of food from their farms. This will enable them to continue expanding their ministry to help meet this basic need for their neighbors.

The Exodus Road

For the last 5 years, our church has been partnering with the Exodus Road to free victims of human trafficking around the globe. Gifts to this year’s Christmas Offering will help us complete the second half of a 2 year commitment to expand their investigations and rescue work in SE Asia.

In addition to that investigative work, we are excited to see the launch and help fund the continued growth of their after-care program “Beyond Rescue.” This program is aimed at young women and men who are over 18 and want to leave the sex industry but have few ways to do so.

As part of this after-care program, The Exodus Road just opened Freedom Home in Thailand, a safe house and mentorship program for adult survivors of human trafficking.

Here’s a quick tour!

Will you partner with us in these amazing projects?

INCREASE MY GIFT

Thank you for your ongoing investment at Pulpit Rock and saying yes to increasing or adjusting your partnership here!

You will notice that our giving page looks new – that’s because our giving is now through Church Center – it’s a more secure, donor friendly platform where you can set up your gift and manage your profile, donation history, recurring donations & notifications.

There are a few important things to know as we make this transition:

  • When you set up your gift you are replacing your existing recurring donation, not adding another one – so just use the new total you feel led to give
  • If you have any questions about the amount or frequency that you currently give, we can help with that
  • We will cancel your current recurring donation that is through EFT Corporation
  • You will receive an email from us that confirms both the new donation and the cancellation of the existing one

As a reminder, our finance team are the only ones who see individual donor info – we do not share what people give with pastors or staff.

We think you’ll find the new system easy to use but are here to help with the change. Please reach out with any questions or for assistance along the way!
