We have all been affected in many ways by COVID during 2020. Our rhythms of life have changed, our planned activities and vacations have been put on hold, and even our ability to gather as a faith community on Sundays looks different. It seems like the effects of COVID are going to continue into the fall and will have a lasting impact on many areas of life.
So how does our faith and our following of Jesus move forward in a time like this?
When our gatherings are taken away, are there things we can do in life that give depth and meaning to who we are as Jesus followers? Sometimes these types of questions can be answered by simply adjusting our perspective and our way of looking at things.
We’d like to invite you on a journey this fall that will help answer some of these faith questions and define some faith perspectives during a time where we are more of a “dispersed” community.
As many of you know, last year I had a book published entitled Life Out Loud: Following Jesus Outside the Walls of the Church. The stories, conversations, and perspectives offered give voice to how we can live our lives as Christians outside of our gathered church services and programs in the building. They offer a paradigm shift of the way we can see ourselves as everyday missionaries in everyday places. It seems like an opportune conversation for a time such as now.
We also have another option starting Sept. 23rd on Wednesday nights.
The time limit is fluid in case the group would like to engage more topics at a slower pace. Books are $12 and will be available for pickup at the church office. All meetings will be online in order to follow best practices for the current health crisis.
If you would like to attend this online book club, you can sign up here! We will follow up with information on books and a Zoom link to join us for discussions.
We look forward to continuing to build our faith and discussing Scripture, the life of Jesus, and how that informs our everyday faith.
