My husband, son and I have been attending Pulpit Rock Church for the past four years. When we first started, I wanted to make new connections and decided to join the women’s ministry Bible study. During my time in Bible study I enjoyed getting to know women from all walks of life, but I made a couple of special connections with some of older and wiser ladies (OWLS). As we would take a break during the summers, I would invite them over for coffee and we would catch up on how things in life were going.
As women’s ministry transitioned this summer from Bible study at the church to creating IF:Tables in our homes, I felt the Lord was leading me to host an IF:Table that included the OWLS. At the end of the summer, I asked each one of the ladies if they would be interested in participating in an IF:Table together. Each one of them were excited to be a part of it.
As we have met throughout the fall, we come together once a month for a couple of hours to enjoy a time of fellowship, celebration, and prayer. During these times that we get together, I have seen a bond between the ladies as they help each other in a time of need due to injuries or the loss of loved ones.
All it took was a leap of faith in what God was asking me to do. I have truly enjoyed their fellowship and love that they have shown to one another. They have set a great example for me as I have many years till I am an OWL.
Is the Lord asking you to join or lead an IF:Table? If so, I encourage you to take that leap of faith and see how the Lord can use you.
“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Acts 2:46-47
