On Saturday, Pulpit Rock got to partner with thousands around our city to love on Colorado Springs in some tangible ways during CityServe Day. Hundreds of churches, businesses, and organizations came together to positively impact our community.
A huge thank you to all of you who served with your family, your small group, and just on your own!
This year, we partnered in two specific projects; Panorama Middle School and Pikes Peak Academy in the Southeast part of town.
It was really exciting to see the transformation that took place in just a few hours at Panorama!
The principal, Anitra Gallegos, and her team have a vision for improving the school’s appearance. During COSILove Schools Day in May, a group from Pulpit Rock was able to revitalize the courtyard by filling planters with dirt and mulch, planting trees and flowers, and painting the teachers lounge.
We got to continue to bring this vision to life on Saturday!
One group worked outside, filling the planters with new mulch and and covering all of the outside railings, doors, and then the planters with fresh coats of paint. Another group worked on the inside of the school painting trim around the windows and doors.
We’re excited to continue the partnership we have with this school, and to continue helping Anitra bring her vision to life.
Pulpit Rock also had a significant presence at Pike Peak Academy on Saturday.
There are some in our church that have served at PPA for some time in the Advocate (mentor) program, walking with students in their studies and in life.
At CityServe, we were able to gather a group to paint, clean grounds, and help with landscaping needs at the school.
It was a great time of connection as we were able to support Mark and Kristen Becker, the Directors/Founders of PPA, and love on a school we have developed a deep love for!
