$30,000
That’s how much we chose to give to The Exodus Road from this past year’s Christmas Offering. We thought it was a good gift to help fund the fight against human trafficking in Latin America.
Little did we know just how much that $30,000 would be needed this year.
COVID-19 has rocked the world and victims of human trafficking situations are especially vulnerable.
The Exodus Road recently shared a post about how COVID-19 is affecting human trafficking.
“With loss of income comes increased vulnerability. Those who have lost jobs along with the millions of daily wage earners unable to work find themselves wondering how they will pay bills and feed their children. The nearly overnight fallout of earnings will place many in a position ripe for exploitation.”
When a crisis like COVID-19 hits an already vulnerable population, the negative effect is multiplied. A crisis like this, while it will certainly affect every pocket of the globe, can be totally devastating for some. This includes those caught in human trafficking.
So we are so glad our friends at The Exodus Road are able to use our money to help the vulnerable.
In fact, one of the ways The Exodus Road is using our money to support one of their operatives in Latin America.
This is his story. (Warning: It’s both very compelling and terribly heartbreaking.)
Church, rest assured that the money that you so generously give during the Christmas Offering is being used directly to help rescue victims of human trafficking. While we might not be able to be there physically, our prayers and financial support make it possible for those who are there to do their job.
So Pulpit Rock, thank you.
Thank you for listening to God’s prompting to give. Thank you for trusting us with your money. Thank you for believing that you are God’s solution for this broken and hurting world.
