Jerry Westling

Grounds & Landscape Director

What do you do at Pulpit Rock?
I direct and work on maintaining the landscape and grounds. I also assist in the buildings and facilities repairs and maintenance as needed.

What did you do before you joined our staff?
I worked for the El Paso County Parks for 26 years starting at Fox Run Regional Park as the Park Manager and then as the North District Supervisor. I finished my last three years there as the El Paso County Parks Division Manager.

Before moving to Colorado in 1987,  I attended the University of Wyoming obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Parks Administration. I worked in the Cheyenne Wyoming, Urban Forestry Division, as the Assistant City Forester for three years and then worked an additional three years for a private full service Landscape and Maintenance Company supervising landscape, irrigation and maintenance services.

An interesting thing about you is…
I am an Air Force brat who was raised on our ranch in Wyoming from 8th grade through high school. We had a few horses and I worked for a neighbor rancher irrigating his fields and other doing other ranch chores.

What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I like camping, gardening, landscaping, and horseback riding.
