A few weeks ago now, 24 of us from our PRiSM High School department retreated! We escaped for a quick, wintery, overnight getaway to Camp Elim near Woodland Park.
Our main focus for the weekend was to take an honest look at how busy our lives are and how that busyness can be a trap that distances us from God and His plans for us.
Our students were challenged with being STILL and knowing that He is God.
They looked at the competition between DISTRACTIONS and DEVOTIONS in their daily lives.
They were implored to HUSH their schedules to make time for daily Retreat with the Savior.
They were empowered to choose CALM over CHAOS.
They were faced with the reality that true REST only comes from Christ, who said that ALL who are weary and burdened should seek Him, and He would provide the rest.
We also had a weekend full of fun. We sang, had an indoor game tournament, “s’mored” it up, hit the sledding hill and even had a snowy tug of war.
Prayerfully we pursued Christ together, counting on Him to draw us each closer to His side.
