Every Sunday at 9AM women gather in Room 109 to talk about our weekly readings and share life with one another. We are using a book by Alabaster Co. called “A Beautiful Year in the Bible” and each week it walks us through themed readings in 7 different books of the Bible so that systematically over 52 weeks we will have ready the ENTIRE BIBLE! We aren’t rigid about making sure people have done their readings, as we know that busy seasons and the ebb and flow of life can make it hard to be at 100%, but we try our best and help keep each other on track by meeting on Sundays.
This week we are in week 6. We have about 18 women who have joined the group and some are doing the readings on their own and can’t come that often, but several come each week. So far the themes have been God’s faithfulness in the midst of our weakness, seeing how God is working around us as our protector, and focusing on the internal work of formation rather than the outward actions of legalism. I have loved getting to know some women who haven’t typically come to retreats and events, and also I love the authenticity of the women so far sharing work struggles, illness challenges, mental health issues and family life. We are reminded that we need one another and that being together helps us stay afloat. We spend time in prayer each week and have a message group for sharing prayer requests with one another. The great thing is women can join at any time since we are simply reading the Bible together and they can start at any point. Please join us so we can grow together this year!
