Everyone has been effected by this global pandemic in one way or another.
One thing that is not always brought to attention is the isolation COVID-19 has created for seniors in assisted living facilities.
Many of them are feeling very lonely and don’t get a lot of interaction. They are struggling with prolonged isolation as the staff try diligently to protect them from the coronavirus.
The assisted living facilities are seeing many seniors decline with the increased loneliness.
The staff are also experiencing more stress as they try harder to take care of the residents, and have their own concerns about their health and well-being.
Our Grove kiddos jumped at the opportunity to respond to this need by making encouraging cards to send to residents and staff at a few of these assisted living facilities!
We want the residents and staff to know that they are loved, and that they are not forgotten during this challenging time.
In The Grove, we’ve been talking about creativity and how God has wired us to use that creativity to reflect Him to others.
Some of our key take-aways in August were “God created you so you can be creative” and “God created you for a purpose.”
What an incredible tie-in for our kids in The Grove to create cards for a purpose!
We were thrilled to give them the opportunity to serve in this way and love being able to lead these kids to Kingdom work.
Our hope is that these beautiful cards put a smile on someone’s face and reflect God’s love for them!
