As the warm days of summer start to wind down, I’ve been reflecting on one of my favorite parts of this summer — Together Tuesday. Every Tuesday morning this summer, moms from across Colorado Springs came together at parks throughout the city for a weekly event focused on connection, encouragement, and a shared rhythm of life. While the kids ran, climbed, dug, and played to their hearts’ content, we got the rare gift of slowing down and simply being together.
The idea for Together Tuesday was simple: give moms a space to be known, heard, and supported. No agenda. No pressure. Just a standing date each week where we could show up, breathe deeply, and remember we’re not doing this alone. Whether someone came every week or just once in a while, each woman brought her own story, her own struggles, and her own joys — and each one left a little more filled up.
We rotated through parks all over the city — from John Venezia to Deerfield Hills. Each spot gave us a new backdrop, new play structures for the kids to explore, and new ways to enjoy the natural beauty of Colorado Springs. Some days were bright and breezy. Others were hot and muggy. But every Tuesday was filled with laughter, conversation, and the occasional juice box explosion.
One of the most beautiful parts of Together Tuesday was how organic and welcoming it felt. There was no need to RSVP. No one needed to dress a certain way or have it all together. You could show up in yoga pants with a stroller full of snacks and still be greeted with a smile and an open seat on the park bench. Whether your kids were toddlers or school aged, everyone was welcome. And in a season of life that can often feel isolating, Together Tuesday became a small but powerful reminder that we’re better together.
We swapped stories and sunscreen. We traded toddler tantrum tips and summer activity ideas. We shared about sleep regressions, school decisions, and what’s for dinner. But we also talked about deeper things — about purpose, overwhelm, friendship, and faith. Somewhere between pushing swings and wiping noses, we were building community. A real one. One that doesn’t just exist on social media, but shows up at the park, week after week.
As summer wraps up and schedules start to shift back toward school routines, I am so grateful for the connections made through Together Tuesday. It wasn’t flashy or formal. But it was real. And it reminded me that even in the mess and motion of motherhood, we can still find space for joy, laughter, and belonging.
Thank you to every mom who showed up — with kids in tow and an open heart. You made this summer something special.
We can’t wait to do it again. Until then, let’s keep showing up for each other — on Tuesdays, and every other day in between.
