What is SOAP?
SOAP is a simple method of studying God’s word that allows you to interact with the scripture and understand it on a deeper, more meaningful level. There are four parts to SOAP:
Scripture
Write out the scripture or verses that stick out to you as you read his word.
Observation
What do you see in the verses that you’re reading? Who is the audience? Is there a repetition of words? What words stand out to you?
Application
Make the scripture personal. How does it apply to you and your life? What is God saying to you?
Prayer
Write out a prayer to God based on what you just learned and ask him to help you apply this truth in your life.
