About our student ministry

Our core values are service and community. We believe we find our lives as we give them away to others and that teens won’t feel the whole of their significance until you give them something significant to do.

We place a high value on leadership and service and every teenager is given opportunity to step into these things weekly.

We believe that our parents are the most impactful spiritual influence on their child, so we engage and partner with our parents. We know that teens need other adult influences in their lives, speaking the same truths they hear from their own parents.

We place a high value on community and core groups, believing that if you don’t give space for kids to express their thoughts (and even doubts) about God, they will never make their faith their own. We have an incredible army of adults with big hearts for teens who lead our core groups each week.

What to expect

Our students are an essential part of our church family. On a Sunday morning, you'll find our students all over ... helping out with our littlest kids in the nursery, hanging with our elementary kids in The Grove, serving with the Hospitality team or on stage leading worship.

Our large group program is focused on community building, powerful teaching, worship, fun and games.

Our student core groups are gender/grade specific small groups led by our amazing team of adult volunteers.

If you're new, stop by any Welcome desk in the Student Center or fill out the form below. We look forward to meeting you!

Training our community to address youth mental health.

March 17, 2020

Recently, Pulpit Rock collaborated with Education for a Lifetime and Pikes Peak Suicide Prevention to provide at no-cost the Youth Mental Health First Aid training to 150 staff members of Doherty High School. Your generous giving to the Christmas Offering made this happen!

What Blockbuster got wrong and how that informs our approach to student ministry.

February 27, 2020

You may have noticed we do things a little differently at Pulpit Rock regarding student programs – we don’t host a separate program for students on Sundays when the rest of our church family is meeting together in the main services. There’s an important reason for this.

Serving Jesus with Splatter Paint

February 11, 2020

I think that it’s very important to serve at church. You have a different way to worship God instead of your typical singing and prayer. I believe that God does see my gift to create just as important as other service projects. Even if I’m not stopping something like world hunger I can still make people happy with my art.

Snowbound 2020: A Recap

February 3, 2020

What do you get when you combine 500 middle school students and caring, Christ following, adults, with snow capped mountain backdrops, with ridiculous games, with dynamic worship and relevant preaching? Something crazy fun called Snowbound!

My pre-pre-teens and the role models they have at church.

September 17, 2019

With the recent program changes, my impressionable kids are now seeing a world where everyone, of all ages, has an important role to play in church. And with the example being set by our students, my kids will not only know that service should be a part of their teenage years, but that they actually have a place at church each Sunday.

A New Rhythm for PRiSM Programs

August 29, 2019

Over the past few months, you’ve likely heard us talk about the changes coming to our student programming this fall. Well the time has come. Beginning this Sunday, things will be a bit different around here. Here’s a quick overview of what to expect.

We’ve just wrapped up another year of Sports Camp and it was packed full of sports, fun, singing, dancing, and most of all, Jesus. Spicy Mike and Sweet T even made a surprise comeback! It was a fantastic week. Here’s a quick photo recap.

Who do our daughters look up to?

May 2, 2019

One of the things I think about often as a mom is who my kids are looking up to. My kids are at the age where they are extremely susceptible to influences surrounding them. But the thing that seems to speak the loudest is what they observe in kids a few years older than them.

We Are God’s Masterpiece

March 12, 2019

I never grew up hoping to be in student ministry. But here I am, and these girls are fierce. They are deep and have real emotions that shape the way they view themselves, how they view God, and most importantly how they think God views them. I will not sit back and let them be told who they are and live their lives not knowing the truth about their identity.
