In Which We Loose the Chains of Injustice

We recently received an update from our sister church in Ethiopia.

We are grateful about the restoration of the peace in the community and in our country. There used to be a very terrifying unrest. Now everything is gone and life is going very peacefully.
As a result, the church is able to teach and graduate 30 students in the bible school. 18 of them completed a certificate program and the other 12 a diploma program.
Beside this, all the regular programs are held as planned.
The church ministers are visiting people in their home.
We as a church also bought a suit for one needy person.
In the coming quarter we plan on having an outreach in the community to spread the gospel and a unity and love celebration day for members.
Teff, oil, hair oil, soap, Vaseline, pasta, macaroni, rice, flour, clothes and shoes are given for the families.
No one is sick on this quarter.
On this quarter six children attended a sexuality training about the physical, emotional and social changes in adolescence.
Other two children from the HBC program are ministering with the church choir.
The effect of the orphan Sunday celebration is still felt on this quarter. People are becoming more kind and compassionate in the church and in the community after learning about the biblical orphan care.

Did you get that?

There is peace. Students are in school. Ministers are visiting homes. Household items are distributed. No one is sick. Children are being trained. People are growing in compassion.

Sounds a bit like something Isaiah said once…

Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

This is all happening because of your regular giving to Pulpit Rock.

Together we’re changing lives on the other side of the world.
