Let the little children come to me.

Luke 18:15-17

Infusing God’s Love in Their Stories

I don’t think it’s coincidental that I found my diary from 3rd and 4th grades just weeks before I would be leading an AWANA group of girls at this very same age. I know now how God’s fingers weave their way through our stories, and this felt significant to me.

We need to talk.

We see things happening in society that we don’t understand and they impact the way we react and protect our own families. We put up walls around our families and do everything we can to isolate ourselves from society and the problems that we see. We cannot do that in Colorado Springs. Our city needs us. Our children need us.

The Prayer Net

We have been focusing on prayer once a month with our kids and leaders in Kingdom Kids during our large group worship time. Our hope is that God will use the prayer net to begin conversations with kids and their leaders, parents or friends about prayer.

1. Teach God’s Truth for appropriate age development

  • God made everything
  • God loves me
  • Jesus wants to be my friend forever
  • God’s word is truth
  • I can trust God no matter what
  • I can choose to follow Christ

2. Create fun environments for kids to celebrate

3. Help parents participate in their child’s spiritual journey

We invite ALL parents to regularly be present in their child’s class so they may experience the learning environment together. Because we believe spiritual growth comes through serving, we also encourage parents to serve in our children’s ministry.

We focus on supporting parents to:

  • have spiritual conversations with their child
  • teach their child to pray and trust God
  • help their child hear and respond to the Word of God
  • point their child to a true identity in Christ
  • lead their child in living out his faith to serve others

Early Childhood

Ages: Birth to 35 months

Our nursery/toddler ministry provides quality care and security while helping each child feel loved, showing them that church is a safe place. With qualified leadership, the paid staff and ministry partners lovingly nurture each and every child. We want to inspire confidence that your little ones will be safe and well cared for while you attend worship services, and to make your child’s first church experiences happy and positive. Our Toddlers are introduced to a more intentional learning environment with age-appropriate Bible story time, songs, art, prayer, and play.

Pre School

Ages: 3 & 4 years

Preschool-age children experience a creative learning environment designed to introduce them to God’s Word and their Savior, Jesus.  Children are divided by age into small groups where they can experience community through an interactive Bible story time, music, art, prayer, and play.

The Grove

Ages: 5 years old to 4th grade

The Grove is a fresh, age-appropriate, worship experience for kids on Sunday mornings! This fast-paced hour (identical program at both services)  is designed to provoke discovery and invite kids into a new understanding of how to grow in relationship with Jesus.  We focus on three basic, but powerful, truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52.

  • I need to make the wise choice.
  • I can trust God no matter what.
  • I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

Ages: 3 years to 4th grade

Kids need Biblical community just as much (if not more) than adults do. Friends are an important part of their lives, and their peers will influence their life decisions. Our small groups follow the curriculum provided by AWANA clubs. Friendships are forged as kids participate in activities, games, and learn about God and the Bible—together.
